Cassidy Torres (Brooklyn/High School for Health Professionals & Human Services) and sophomore
Alyssa Haberlack (Long Beach) have earned weekly Women's Swimming and Diving awards from the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) for the week ending Dec. 8. Torres is the SUNYAC Women's Swimmer of the Week and Haberlack is the league's Women's Diver of the Week.
Torres won two individual events and swam on four winning relays to help Cortland take the team title at its own Snow Flurries Invitational Friday and Saturday. She won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.72) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:40.96), swam breaststroke legs on the winning 200-yard medley relay (1:55.00) and 400-yard medley relay (4:17.27), and swam on the victorious 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.99) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:51.63).
Haberlack received the league's diving award for the third time this season. She won both diving events at the Snow Flurries Invitational, posting 11-dive scores of 388.65 points on the 3-meter board and 373.73 points on the 1-meter board.
Cortland's next action will be a home dual meet versus New Paltz on Jan. 11.
