Five members of the Cortland field hockey team have been named to the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region III team. Senior midfielder Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent), senior forward Keirra Ettere (Mahopac/Lakeland), and graduate student defender Madison Rice (Greene/Greene Central) were named to the first team, while senior forwards Jamie Snyder (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) and Gianna Trunfio (Clinton) were chosen to the second team. 
 
In addition, Corrigan and Ettere were chosen to the 2024 NFHCA Senior Team – two of 60 student-athletes nationally in Division III to be recognized.  
 
All five Red Dragons are repeat selections to the all-region team; Corrigan is a first team honoree for the fourth consecutive year, Ettere is on the all-region team for the fourth time and third time on the first team. Meanwhile, Rice and Trunfio were first team selections and Snyder was a second team choice last season. 
 
Corrigan is Cortland's first four-time first team all-region honoree since Christine McCabe (2006-09). The senior started all 20 games this season, scoring 41 points on 18 goals and five assists, and netted four game-winning goals. Corrigan also registered six multi-goal games for the Red Dragons on the year, and tied for 21st nationally in goals per game. A repeat selection as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Offensive Player of the Year and four-time first team All-SUNYAC selection, Corrigan was also selected to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team and as MVP for her performances in leading Cortland to its third straight conference title.
 
Ettere is back on the all-region first team for the second time; she was a second team selection in 2022 and 2023 and a first team honoree in 2021. The senior led the Red Dragons with 46 points on 20 goals and six assists, and now shares the Cortland career goals mark with Carol Merchant (1991-94) with 74 goals across four years. Ettere also had seven game-winning goals during the season, including the game winner in a 2-1 victory over Ohio Wesleyan in the NCAA Division III tournament first round. She was also a first team All-SUNYAC selection last month, and named to the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team. 
 
Rice repeats as a first team all-region pick. The graduate student started all 20 games for the Red Dragons, captaining the Cortland back line that posted a goals against average of 0.79 for this season, the best mark in the conference and sixth-best mark in the nation. She also helped Cortland keep 10 shutouts, and held opponents to one goal or fewer in 18 or 20 contests. Also a repeat selection as the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year, Rice is the first Cortland player to win the award back-to-back season, and was a first team All-SUNYAC honoree as well.
 
Trunfio is an all-region honoree for the second time in two seasons at Cortland. She started all 20 games, finishing third on the team with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists. Trunfio netted at least one goal in nine games for Cortland, and provided two game-winning goals. She was a first team All-SUNYAC selection for the second straight year. 
 
Snyder is back on all-region second team after providing 26 points on 10 goals and six assists. Her six assists tied for the most on Cortland this year. She also scored at least one goal in nine games, and netted two game-winning goals. Snyder earned her second straight All-SUNYAC first team nod this season. 
 
Cortland finished the season with an 18-2 record, winning the SUNYAC regular season crown and its third straight conference tournament title. The Red Dragons advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament second round and tied for ninth place nationally.
