BROCKPORT, N.Y. – 
Kareem Lubin (Monroe/Washingtonville) scored 17 of his game-high 22 points in the second half as the Cortland men's basketball team posted a 64-57 win at Brockport in SUNYAC action.
 
Cortland moved into sole possession of fourth place in the SUNYAC standings with a 9-6 record and is now 12-10 overall after earning its fourth straight win. The Red Dragons are a game ahead of Oneonta and Plattsburgh (each 8-7) and a game and a half behind Brockport, which fell to 11-5 in the league and 15-7 overall.
 
Lubin also finished with six rebounds. 
Kendall Arcuri (Staten Island/St. Joseph by the Sea) hit 5-of-7 shots and ended with 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals. 
Aaron Coston (Kerhonkson/Rondout Valley) just missed a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high eight assists, and he also tied his career best with three blocks. Gerard Beaubrun (Baldwin) tied his career high with five rebounds and 
Jaylen Warmack (Utica/Utica Notre Dame) handed out four assists.
 
Alex Tavarez led Brockport off the bench with 12 points. Tony Arnold netted 10 points and Caquan Wester pulled down six rebounds.
 
Cortland shot 40 percent from the field, including 45 percent in the second half. Brockport shot 38 percent overall.
 
Cortland led 29-27 at halftime after a tight first half that featured seven ties. The game remained close most of the second half, with neither team leading by more than six points until the final minute. Trailing 45-42 midway through the half, Cortland scored seven straight points, all by Lubin, to take a 49-45 lead.
 
The Red Dragons were clinging to a 51-49 lead with less than four minutes left before a Lubin layup at the 3:31 mark and an Arcuri bucket at the 2:09 mark made it a six-point game. After Brockport briefly cut the margin to four, Cortland used a Coston layup with 1:23 left and two 
Danny Linehan (Blauvelt/Tappan Zee) free throws with 31 seconds left to take a 59-51 lead. Brockport got no closer than six points after that.
 
Cortland travels to Geneseo Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
