Cortland senior second baseman Tori Reich (Cornwall) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Softball Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 17.
 
Reich batted .520 (13-for-25) with two doubles, six walks and nine RBI during a 7-1 stretch for Cortland during its season-opening trip to Florida. She hit safely in seven of the eight games, including a 3-for-4 effort with two RBI in a win over Wooster, a 2-for-3 performance with a walk, three RBI and two runs in a win over Mitchell, and a 2-for-4 outing with two RBI in a victory over Springfield.
 
Reich also had two hits in a win versus Arcadia and in a loss to Nichols. Defensively, she made only one error in 31 chances at second base (17 putouts, 13 assists).
 
Through 10 games, Reich is batting .483 (14-for-29) with two doubles, eight walks, nine RBI and nine runs scored. She had a .973 fielding percentage (one error in 37 chances).
 
Cortland (9-1) will play two games with Farmingdale State and two with Western Connecticut State on Saturday and Sunday at Farmingdale.
