KING OF PRUSSIA, PA. – Cortland scored a combined 42 runs, including 13 in the first inning of the opening game, and the Red Dragons swept host Rosemont College, 22-0 and 20-10, in a non-league baseball doubleheader. The first game was called after seven innings and the second game ended after eight innings due to pre-agreed upon 10-run mercy rule.
Cortland stretched its winning streak to 13 games and is now 19-8-1 on the season.

Cortland nearly batted around twice during its 13-run first inning, sending 17 players to the plate. The Red Dragons recorded a 13-run inning for the second straight year; Cortland scored 13 runs in the seventh inning last season in a win at Brevard.
Mat Bruno (Rye) finished 3-for-4 with a homer, double, five RBI and three runs scored. He became Cortland's career runs batted in leader during the doubleheader; his 175 RBI (including six on Sunday) surpasses the previous school record of 171 by Andersen Gardner from 2007-10. Bruno had five hits in the twinbill and now has 232 career hits, three away from Andrew Mead's career record 235 from 2003-06. Bruno posted all five of his RBI in the opener in the first inning with a two-run double and three-run homer.
Cortland had 22 hits in the victory.
Nick Chemotti (Syracuse/West Genesee) went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs and
JJ DeLawder (Hyde Park/Franklin D. Roosevelt) went 2-for-3 with a homer, triple, three RBI and three runs.
Zachary Kringdon (Larchmont/Mamaroneck) was 2-for-3 with a double, walk and two RBI,
Chris Bonacci (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs, and
Dylan Mackenzie (Canandaigua/Canandaigua Academy) was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs.
Luke Schartner (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) and
Logan Karwowski (Cicero/Cicero-North Syracuse) each went 2-for-2 off the bench, with Karwowski driving in a run.
Danny Jackson (Lagrangeville/Arlington) drove in two runs and
Nolan Smith (Hamburg) was 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored.
Luis Misla (Tampa, FL/Riverview), the first in a predetermined set of Cortland pitchers, earned the win with three innings of two-hit ball. He fanned five and walked one. He combined on the shutout with
Liam Krasney (Greenville),
Nick Jessen (Syracuse/West Genesee) and
Brady Mazzeo (Averill Park). Krasner pitched a scoreless fourth, allowing two hits and a walk and striking out one. Jessen gave up three hits and fanned four batters in two innings, and Mazzeo allowed no hits and two walks with one strikeout in the seventh.
Chase Masten and Dom Younger each went 2-for-3 for Rosemont. David McKinney took the loss for the Ravens after allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, in the first.

Seven Red Dragons finished with multiple hits as Cortland totaled 22 hits for the second straight game.
Jon Munoz (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown) went 4-for-6 with two homers, two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored. He hit a solo homer for the first run in a five-run second and a two-run homer as part of a five-run fourth.
Mitchell Kelly (Webster/Webster Thomas) also homered and finished 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Chemotti ended 3-for-4 with a walk, RBI and two runs and Kringdon was 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs. Mackenzie went 2-for-4 with two RBI, Bruno was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs and Bonacci went 2-for-4 with a double.
Samson Gerner was 2-for-5 with a homer, double and three RBI for Rosemont (7-20). Nick Tanella went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, and Chris Walton and Thomas George each were 2-for-5, with George driving in a run.
Cortland scored three in the first and five in the second to take an 8-0 lead. Rosemont cut its deficit to 8-3 after three innings, but the Red Dragons scored five in the fourth to go up 13-3. Cortland eventually led 18-5 going into the bottom of the seventh. Rosemont briefly avoided the 10-run rule with five runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Cortland scored twice in the top of the eighth and held the Ravens scoreless in the bottom of the inning to end the game.
The Red Dragons again went with a predetermined slate of pitchers, starting with
Devin Georgetti (Rochester/Gates Chili). He was awarded the victory after allowing two runs in two innings and leaving with an 8-2 lead. He gave up four hits and one walk and struck out two.
Tommy Lynch (West Seneca/Canisius), the last of Cortland's four relievers, allowed one hit and no runs over the final inning and two thirds. He struck out two batters. Rosemont starter Zachary Nutley lost after being tagged for eight runs in two innings.
