Cortland junior Angelo Centrone (Mahopac) has been named the SUNYAC Wrestler of the Week for the week ending Jan. 12.
 
Centrone was named to the all-tournament team at 149 pounds at the 16-team Budd Whitehill National Duals last Friday and Saturday at Lycoming College. He finished the tournament 5-0 with a pin and four technical falls and improved his record to 17-0 for the season with three pins and 13 technical falls.
 
SUNYAC wrestling consists of league core members Cortland, Oneonta and Oswego along with associate members Brockport, Ithaca, RIT, Utica and St. John Fisher.
 
Cortland will host the SUNYAC Championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Lusk Field House. Cortland won the league title last year in the conference's first season sponsoring the sport since the 1990-91 season.
