NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - Cortland limited New Paltz to a minus-.107 attack percentage as the Red Dragons swept the host Hawks, 25-14, 25-8, 25-15, in a SUNYAC women's volleyball match. Cortland improved to 15-4 overall with its 10th straight victory and is 4-0 in the SUNYAC.

Nine team blocks by the Red Dragons contributed to New Paltz finishing the afternoon with 17 kills and 26 errors in 84 attempts. Cortland hit .279 for the match, including .476 (12 kills, two errors, 21 attempts) in the first set and .350 (nine kills, two errors, 20 attempts) in the second set.

Lauren Millspaugh (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson) led Cortland with nine kills and one error in 14 attempts for a .571 attack percentage, and she also was the team leader with six blocks.
Kira Pirrera (Hauppauge/Smithtown West) had seven kills, three aces, seven digs and three blocks.

Emalee Ballou (Eden) added three kills and
Sanaiya Whitted (Poughkeepsie/Franklin D. Roosevelt) finished with two kills and five blocks.
Melissa O'Connor (Hauppauge) handed out a team-high 15 assists,
Kayla Wasserman (Minisink/Minisink Valley) served three aces and
Alyssa Rich (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) led the squad with 11 digs.

New Paltz (10-9, 2-2 SUNYAC) was led by Maria Weigand's eight kills and Courtney Meyer's 12 digs.

Cortland scored six straight points in the first set to take a 13-7 lead, and New Paltz got no closer than four points the rest of the set. Millspaugh had four kills in five attempts during that stanza. In the second set, Cortland ran off 13 consecutive points to pull away from an 11-7 lead. Millspaugh rang up kills on all five of her attempts during the set. Cortland worked its way from a 15-13 lead to a 20-15 advantage in the third. Wasserman served all three of her aces during the Red Dragons' final five points.
