Cortland senior
Lisa Schulz (Mönchengladbach, Germany) and junior
Christina Massoni (West Babylon) have earned State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) women's tennis all-conference honors for the 2025 fall season. Schulz was named first team all-league in singles, Massoni was second team all-conference in singles, and Schulz and Massoni were honored on the all-league first team for doubles.
Â
Schulz registered an 11-2 overall record in singles play - 9-2 at first singles and 2-0 at second singles. She went 3-2 in SUNYAC regular-season action.
Â
Massoni earned all-league honors in both singles and doubles for the second straight year; she was second team at both first singles and first doubles during the 2024-25 season (the conference recognized singles and doubles players by flights that season but changed back to an all-flight system this year). Massoni's 7-6 singles record this fall included a 3-2 record in regular-season league play. She played a majority of her matches (11 of 13) at second singles.
Â
As a doubles team, Schulz and Massoni finished 8-5 overall and 3-2 during the SUNYAC regular season. Six of their eight wins were by scores of 6-3 or better.
Â
Cortland finished the fall season with a 7-7 mark overall and 3-2 in SUNYAC play. The Red Dragons finished the regular season in third place in the league and earned a spot in the four-team SUNYAC tournament. Cortland defeated Oswego in the semifinals before falling to New Paltz in the finals to finish in second place - the program's best league finish since winning the 2005 league crown, and its best finish since the league tournament changed to a team-bracketed event in 2011.
