Cortland Women Drop Dual-Meet Decision to Visiting Rochester

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Ella Garrow (Peru) won the 200-yard breaststroke and recorded one of Cortland's six individual runner-up finishes during the Red Dragons' 206-93 women's swimming and diving dual-meet loss to visiting University of Rochester.
 
Garrow won the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.12 and was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.00, and Julia Bryce (Rochester/School of the Arts) finished second in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.37) and 200-yard individual medley (2:21.54).
 
Ryann Redmond (Floral Park/Floral Park Memorial) was the runner-up in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:36.60) and Emma Bouwens (Hilton) placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:19.36). Auttumn Ayakawa (Honolulu, HI/Coppell (TX)) finished second in 1-meter diving (238.15 points).
 
The 200-yard medley relay of Bouwens, Garrow, Areiannah Martinez-Reyes (Queens/Benjamin Cardozo) and Erin Galligan (Rochester/Our Lady of Mercy) finished second in 1:55.07. Galligan, Rhianna Lynch (New Hartford), Cassidy Torres (Brooklyn/H.S. for Health Professionals) and Garrow placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:44.76).
 
Cortland returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 8, when it hosts Ithaca in a dual meet.
