Sargent Double Winner During Dual-Meet Home Setback vs. Rochester

CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team posted four individual victories, including two by Dariusz Sargent (Holland Patent), during a 184.5-112.5 home dual-meet loss to the University of Rochester.
 
Sargent won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.34 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:16.41. Colin Veit (Port Jefferson/Earl L. Vandermeulen) won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.95 and Calvin Eggleston (Antwerp/Indian River) captured top honors in 1-meter diving with a score of 252.75 points.
 
Kellen Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) posted a pair of runner-up finishes. He was second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.21) and 100-yard butterfly (52.86). Jack Clark (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.58) and Eliseo Fernandez (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:02.69).
 
In relay action, Aiden Ramirez (Suffern), Dickman, Veit and Clark finished second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.41), while Dickman, Dylan Monaco (Lynbrook), Peter Brelesky (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) and Clark placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:29.15).
 
Cortland will host Ithaca in a dual meet on Saturday, Nov. 8.
