ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cortland wrestling team finished in seventh place out of nine teams at the two-day Ithaca College Invitational Friday and Saturday.
 
The Red Dragons finished with 41.5 points. Ithaca won the team title with 200.5 points.
 
Three Cortland wrestlers earned top-six finishes in their weight classes. At 165 pounds, Justin Klein (Miller Place) finished in fifth place at 165 pounds with a 5-2 record, while Tristan Robinson-July (Ossining) was sixth in that weight class with a 4-2 mark. Joseph Visciano (Smithtown/Smithtown East) placed sixth at 174 pounds with a 3-3 record.
 
Five other Red Dragons earned multiple victories during the tournament. Thomas Tsoi (White Plains/Valhalla), Christian Paredes (East Moriches/Connetquot) and Max Kochergin (Sloatsburg/Suffern) each went 3-2 at 165 pounds. Anthony Mayers (Somerville) was 3-2 at 174 pounds and Neil Paulercio (Valhalla) finished 2-2 at 141 pounds.
 
Cortland will send competitors to Iowa next Saturday to compete at the Luther College Open.
