Four Cortland Players Earn D3football.com All-Region Awards

The Cortland football team has earned four Region 2 all-region honors from the national website D3football.com. Junior cornerback Nazair Jean-Lubin (Freeport), senior linebacker Aden Wiser (Highland) and senior offensive guard Aidan Glynn (Miller Place) were first-team honorees and senior offensive tackle Nate Graser (Liverpool) was chosen to the all-region second team.

All of the honored players are eligible for selection to the D3football.com All-America team that will be announced Dec. 22. Region 2 includes Cortland's conference, the Empire 8, along with the Liberty League, Centennial Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference and Presidents' Athletic Conference.

Jean-Lubin is a repeat selection on the all-region first team. He led Cortland this fall with four interceptions and 11 pass breakups in 11 games. Jean-Lubin also registered 32 tackles, 22 solo, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He intercepted passes in wins over Union, Hartwick, St. John Fisher and Alfred State and had three pass breakups in a win over Utica.

Wiser, the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year, finished the season with 38 tackles, 26 solo, in 11 games. He led the Red Dragons with seven sacks and 9.5 total tackles for loss. Wiser also recorded seven quarterback hurries, an interception, two pass breakups and a forced fumble. He posted three sacks in a win at Morrisville, 2.5 sacks in Cortland's season opener versus Grove City, and a sack and forced fumble in a win over Utica.

Glynn started all 11 games at left guard and Graser started all 11 games at left tackle for Cortland this fall. Both were graded at 96 percent by the coaching staff, with Glynn personally allowing no sacks and Graser only one. Cortland averaged 36 points and 383.9 yards (210.5 rushing, 173.4 passing) of total offense per game.

Cortland finished the season 8-3 overall. The Red Dragons won their fifth straight Empire 8 title with a 7-0 record and made their fifth consecutive NCAA Division III playoff appearance, losing at Springfield in the opening round.
