Kevin Kohlhoff Breaks School 11-Dive 1-Meter Record at USMMA Invitational

Jack Clark placed second in both the 100-yard and 50-yard freestyle events
KINGS POINT, N.Y. – The Cortland men's swimming and diving team competed at the non-team scoring U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Memorial Invitational on Saturday. The meet featured competitors from Cortland, Merchant Marine, The College of New Jersey, Kutztown University and Maritime College.

Kevin Kohlhoff (West Islip) shattered the school record in 1-meter diving during the meet with an 11-dive score of 547.25 points. The previous school mark was 509.90 points, set by his teammate Kazuki Kadota-Browner (Jericho) last season. Alex Hilldale (Binghamton/Chenango Valley) also competed in diving - he scored 406.50 points on the 3-meter board as the lone men's diver to post an 11-dive score in that event, and he was second behind Kohlhoff on the 1-meter board with 466.20 points. Hilldale hit a NCAA regional qualifying standard with that score and would need to meet the standard one more time to earn a spot at regionals.

Dylan Anselment (Glens Falls) won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.20 seconds. Jack Clark (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) was second in 22.45 seconds and also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle in 48.53 seconds. Kellen Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) also earned two runner-up finishes with times of 2:02.96 in the 200-yard IM and 53.22 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly.

Mason Rowlands (Campbell Hall/Washingtonville) finished second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.29) and third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.33). Dom Fratto (Waterloo/Geneva) was second in the 100-yard backstroke (53.86), Dylan Monaco (Lynbrook) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.35) and Sean Zupko (Montgomery/Valley Central) was second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.16).

Cortland finished second in both relays. Fratto, Hunter Sugrue-Neuendorf (Valley Cottage/Nyack), Dickman and Anselment were runner-up in the 200-yard medley relay (1:37.94) and Monaco, Anselment, Dickman and Clark finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:18.61).
