ST. PETER, MINN. – The SUNY Cortland women's gymnastics team finished in fourth place and two Red Dragons - freshman
Tayah Graham (Syracuse/Liverpool) and sophomore
Autumn Adkins (Aledo, TX) - earned All-America honors at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
Cortland finished with a team score of 191.975 and was the top scorer among the three East Region teams at the six-team championship. Wisconsin-La Crosse won the national title with a 194.925, followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater (194.025), Wisconsin-Oshkosh (193.10), Cortland, Rhode Island College (191.85) and Brockport (190.90). Cortland's team finish was its best since a national runner-up showing in 2014.
Graham tied for third place on vault with a career-high tying 9.75 and Adkins tied for eighth on uneven bars with a 9.675. The top eight finishers in each event are All-Americans. A total of 48 gymnasts competed in each event.
Junior
Gianna Mirigliano (Springfield, PA) tied for ninth on vault with a career-high 9.725 and tied for 21st on balance beam with a 9.675. Sophomore
Samantha Meadows (Cypress, TX/Texas Connections Academy at Houston) also placed in the top half in two events, tying for 11th on balance beam (9.775) and tying for 13th on vault (9.675).
Three other Red Dragons earned top-24 showings at the championship. Sophomore
Kathryn McSweeney (East Brunswick, NJ) tied for 12th on uneven bars with a 9.625 and junior
Tessa Sutton (Fairport/The Ogburn School) tied for 16th on floor exercise with a career-high 9.775. Sophomore
Rory Allan (Dubai, United Arab Emirates/Gems International School Al Khail) tied for 20th place on vault with a season-best 9.625.
In addition, Cortland's four seniors -
Rianna Adams (South Setauket/Ward Melville),
Ava Miranov (Morgantown, WV/University),
Gabrielle Nadler (Potomac, MD/Richard Montgomery) and
Zoe Potamianos (Jamesville/Jamesville-DeWitt) - were all recognized as an NCGA Senior All-Americans in Academics award winners. The awards go to seniors with at least a 3.25 overall grade point average who appear on the team's NCGA squad list for the current year. The winners must be in their final year of athletic eligibility as well as seniors academically.

A great end to a very exciting season of breaking records and continuing to get stronger and stronger as a program. This team showed some serious grit on a huge stage with incredible gymnastics. I am incredibly proud of everything we have accomplished this year!
