Isaiah Brunache (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) have been recognized by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) for their performances during the week ending April 13. Pittman is the SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. McMasters is the SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Brunache is the SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Pittman finished 12th out of 102 runners in the 200-meter dash (24.84 seconds) and 12th of 92 in the 100-meter dash (12.14 seconds) at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic over the weekend. Both of her times are All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifiers.
McMasters tied the Cortland school record in the hammer throw with a winning distance of 50.48 meters (165' 7") at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational on Sunday. Her distance is a Utica facility record, an AARTFC qualifier and ranks 23rd nationally in Division III. McMasters also won the shot put with a distance of 11.95 meters (39' 2.5") and placed sixth in the discus at 31.42 meters (103' 1").
Brunache broke the Cortland school record in the shot put with his winning heave of 17.60 meters (57' 9") at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational. He broke the previous school mark of 17.02 meters that he set during the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships. The 17.60 meters is a Utica facility record and currently ranks third nationally in Division III. Brunache also won the discus with a facility-record throw of 47.80 meters (156' 10") and he finished sixth in the hammer throw at 49.25 meters (161' 7"). All three of his efforts are AARTFC qualifiers.
Cortland will host the Cortland Classic on Friday and Saturday, April 18-19.
