Senior women's tennis player Lisa Schulz (Mönchengladbach, Germany) and sophomore football quarterback Mike Rescigno (Arlington) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 14.

Lisa Schulz

Lisa won both of her matches at first singles during the week to improve to 4-0 on the season. She won 6-3, 4-6, 10-4 (super tiebreaker) at Geneseo on Tuesday and 6-3, 6-1 at St. John Fisher on Friday. She also finished 2-0 at first doubles.

Mike Rescigno

Mike rushed 16 times for 144 yards and a touchdown and completed 7-of-12 passes for 75 yards and a score in Cortland's 30-6 win over visiting Union. His 15-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter extended the Red Dragons' lead to 17-6 and he ran for a 16-yard TD with 1:52 remaining.
