Emma Bouwens won the 500-yard freestyle and finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle
TROY, N.Y. - The Cortland women's swimming and diving team earned a second-place finish at the RPI Kumpf Invitational on Saturday at RPI's Robison Pool. RPI won the meet with 617 points, followed by Cortland (479), Skidmore (458) and William Smith (202).

Auttumn Ayakawa (Honolulu, HI/Coppell (TX)) won both diving events for the Red Dragons. She posted a score of 267.25 points on the 3-meter board and 254.30 points on the 1-meter board. Her 3-meter score marks the second time she's met the NCAA regional qualifying status on the board, earning her a spot at the NCAA regionals in late February.

Emma Bouwens (Hilton) won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:27.26 and placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.95.
Tristinye Martinez-Reyes (Queens/Benjamin Cardozo) finished third in both the 100-yard IM (1:05.16) and 200-yard butterfly (2:19.87), and
Ella Garrow (Perul) was third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:34.27).

Alyssa Haberlack (Long Beach) posted third-place scores in both 1-meter diving (227.05 points) and 3-meter diving (228.90 points), while
Megan McLaughlin (Avon) was fourth on the 1-meter board (226.60 points).
Emma Wilson (Red Hook) finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:21.23).

The relays at the invitational were conducted as "mixed" relays with two men and two women on the same team, with both teams earning the points for the finish. In the mixed 200-yard medley relay, Bouwens and
Morgan Hannon (Hyde Park/Franklin D. Roosevelt) teamed with
Kellen Dickman (Montgomery/Valley Central) and
Jack Clark (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) to finish in second place in 1:46.90.

Cortland returns to action next Friday, Jan. 23, at 4 p.m. when it travels Oneonta for a dual meet.
