PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Cortland women's basketball team pushed aside numerous runs by host Plattsburgh and defeated the Cardinals, 58-50, in a SUNYAC match. The Red Dragons, ranked 23rd nationally by D3hoops.com and 25th by the WBCA, won their 11th straight game to improve to 13-2 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

Sophie Bissaillon (East Greenbush/Columbia) matched her career high with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and added five rebounds.
Jackie Funk (Penfield) tallied 11 points,
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) scored nine points and amassed three steals, and
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) finished with eight points, 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Bella Zingoni (Kings Park/Long Island Lutheran) totaled seven points and four rebounds.
Sam Dembinsky (Wallkill) dished out three assists and
Mariah Huss (Buffalo/Sacred Heart Academy) finished with three steals.

Plattsburgh (9-5, 4-3 SUNYAC) was led by Julia Greek's 20 points and four assists. She was 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Kayla Johannesen scored 12 points, Imani Walcott had eight rebounds and three blocks, and Kaelyn Morgan added seven rebounds.

Plattsburgh took its only lead of the game at 3-0 on a Johannesen 3-pointer 1:25 into the contest. Cortland scored the next nine points, and eventually led 18-10 after the first quarter. Plattsburgh scored the first six points of the second quarter to make it 18-16, but Cortland came back to take a 28-18 lead with 2:38 left in the second and held a 30-22 halftime advantage.

Cortland's lead grew to 35-22 with 7:42 left in the third quarter, but the Cardinals fought back again and were within 35-30 at the 5:34 mark of the period. Cortland was up 40-34 after three quarters but took control with a 7-2 run to open the fourth, capped by an
Adriana Fontana (Endicott/Union-Endicott) 3-pointer and a long jumper by Bissaillon to take a 47-36 lead with 7:09 left. The Red Dragons held a lead of at least seven points the rest of the way.

Cortland shot 44 percent from the field overall and 39 percent (7-of-18) from the arc. Plattsburgh finished at 35 percent overall and 56 percent (9-of-16) from 3-point range.
