SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - The Cortland women's basketball team jumped out to leads of 20-7 after one quarter and 47-16 at halftime and the Red Dragons defeated Rivier University of New Hampshire, 74-27, during the second day of the Springfield College Fairfield Inn & Suites Enfield/Naismith Classic. Cortland allowed its lowest point total since a 53-25 win at Buffalo State in February 2009.

In the predetermined schedule format, both Cortland and Springfield finished with 2-0 records with wins over both Colby and Rivier.
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) and
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) represented the Red Dragons on the all-tournament team.

Cortland (7-2) was led by
Adriana Fontana's career-high 14 points in just 14 minutes off the bench. She made 5-of-6 shots from the field, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Tillotson scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting and pulled down five rebounds, and
Sophie Bissaillon (East Greenbush/Columbia) finished with 10 points and four rebounds.

Sam Dembinsky (Wallkill) made all four of her shots to finish with eight points and
Sarah Owen (Floral Park/Floral Park Memorial) scored eight points, the first of her collegiate career. She made both of her 3-point attempts and finished 3-of-5 overall from the floor.

Lusk finished with seven points and three assists.
Mariah Huss (Buffalo/Sacred Heart Academy) led the Red Dragons with four assists and four steals, and
Megan Milleville (Cambria/Starpoint) posted a team-high six rebounds along with three assists.

Gianna Donato scored 11 points for Rivier (0-12). Juju Nealy added eight points and Erika Fantauzzi led the Raiders with six rebounds and five steals.

Cortland shot 63 percent from the field in the first half (19-of-30) and finished the game at 50 percent (28-of-56) overall and 52 percent (11-of-21) from the arc. The Red Dragons held Rivier to 23 percent shooting (9-of-40).
