BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – The Cortland women's golf team finished first out of three teams at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Fall Invitational.

The one-day tournament was held at the Foxfire Golf Club, and is one of two fall tournaments sponsored by the conference. The NWGC Fall Classic will be held on Tuesday at the Camillus Golf Club. The official NWGC Championship is scheduled for next April.

Cortland finished with a score of 347, easily outdistancing Geneseo (419) and Delhi (525). Utica and Cobleskill each had individual competitors only.

All nine of Cortland's golfers at the event, including four individual entries, finished in the top 12 out of 25 competitors. Gina Milazzo (Greenwood Lake/Warwick Valley) was tournament medalist with a five-over par 77, followed by runner-up Chloe Tice (Syracuse/Cicero-North Syracuse) with an 87 and Mimi Rienzo (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg) with an 88. Milazzo registered two birdies and nine pars; she opened with a 40 on the front nine and had a 37, with the two birdies, on the way back in.

Pia Aguilar (Santiago, Chile/Colegio Highlands), as an individual entry, finished fourth with a 90. Steffi Trombley (Plattsburgh) was fifth with a 95, while Kara Dumas (Jefferson/Gilboa-Conesville) and individual entry Lilyana Wehrle (Marcy/Whitesboro) were part of a three-way tie for sixth at 97. Also for the Red Dragons, Kendall Farthing (Hallstead, PA/Blue Ridge) finished 11th (103) and Sara Pepp (East Islip) was 12th (106), both as individual entries.
