COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The Cortland women's volleyball team improved to 4-1 in SUNYAC play with a 25-7, 25-20, 25-9 sweep at Cobleskill.

The Red Dragons (11-8 overall) had five players hit .400 or better in the win. Kira Pirrera (Hauppauge/Smithtown West) led Cortland with 12 kills and only one error in 23 attempts for a .478 attack percentage. Reese Chudoba (Hamburg) had seven kills and one error in 10 attempts for a .600, and Lauren Millspaugh (Trumansburg/Charles O. Dickerson) recorded four kills in as many attempts for a perfect 1.000 mark.

Anna Lynch (Rochester/Our Lady of Mercy) ended with four kills and no errors in nine attempts (.444), and added two blocks. Erica Arroyo (Nesconset/Smithtown West) had four kills and no errors in 10 attempts (.400).

Melissa O'Connor (Hauppauge) led Cortland with four aces and 12 assists. Sarah Taggart (Buffalo/Williamsville South), Annika Fedullo (Amsterdam), Lily Coan (Sayville) and Corrine Jarc (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) each added two aces to Cortland's 15 in the match. Kathleen Smart had five kills, Baylee Kirschberg finished with 11 assists, and Jojo Haycock posted nine digs for the host Fighting Tigers (1-17, 0-5 SUNYAC).

Cortland did not trail in the first and third sets, and the Red Dragons only trailed once at 1-0 in the second. In the second set, Cobleskill was within 20-17 after a kill by Smart, but a Chudoba kill and an error by the hosts made it 22-17. Cortland's lead was at least four after that.
