MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Cortland women's basketball team secured a share of first place in the final SUNYAC regular-season standings with a 62-44 victory at Morrisville.

Cortland (22-3, 17-1 SUNYAC) finished tied with New Paltz in the conference. With the first four tiebreakers even, the league postseason tournament top seed will be determined by which team is higher in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) after Sunday. Entering Saturday's competition, New Paltz was 22nd in the NPI with a score of 60.603 and Cortland was 25th with a 60.175. The scores will change depending on results from both teams' non-league opponents, and the team that wins the tiebreaker will host the SUNYAC semifinals and finals Feb. 27-28.

Sam Dembinsky (Wallkill) matched her career high with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range. She also grabbed six rebounds.
Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) finished with 11 points and team highs of seven rebounds and four steals. She made 3-of-4 attempts from the 3-point arc.

Jackie Funk (Penfield) chipped in with nine points, five rebounds and three assists,
Megan Milleville (Cambria/Starpoint) tied her career best with six rebounds, and
Joleen Lusk (Cherry Valley/Cherry Valley-Springfield) pulled down five rebounds.

Abbie Platt paced Morrisville (2-23, 1-17 SUNYAC) with 10 points, five assists and six steals. Celeste Baldwin registered a game-high nine rebounds and added four steals and three assists.

Cortland led 19-10 after one quarter and extended the lead to 25-10 just over two minutes into the second quarter. The Red Dragons were up 34-19 at halftime and 53-29 after three quarters. The host Mustangs got back to within 17 at 61-44 with about a minute remaining.
