ROCHESTER, NY – Eight Cortland wrestlers earned top-five finishes in their weight classes at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Invite on Saturday. There was no team scoring at the event.
 
Ryan Langenmayr (Ringwood, NJ/Lakeland Regional) and Neil Paulercio (Valhalla) were both undefeated at 141 pounds to share the title. Langenmayr went 2-0 with two first-period pins in his two matches, while Paulercio advanced to the finals with a 3-0 record via two pins and a major decision. The first-place match was declared a no-contest.
 
Cade Sands (Addison/Addison Central) finished in third place at 133 pounds with a 4-1 record. After losing his opening match, he recorded three straight technical falls, and had a pin in just 1:03 in the third-place match.
 
Carmine Gerbino (Greenlawn/John Glenn) was also third at 285 pounds with a 5-1 record. He had two pins, including a pin in the third-place match, and one technical fall for the day. Jack Pickersgill (Holtsville/Sachem East) and Tristan Robinson-July (Ossining) placed third and fourth, respectively at 165 pounds. Pickersgill went 4-1 at 165 pounds with three pins, while Robinson-July was 3-1 with two pins, before medically forfeiting the third-place match.
 
Two other Red Dragons posted fifth-place finishes. Nolan Jackson (Elbridge/Jordan-Elbridge) went 2-2 at with one pin at 133 pounds, and Jonathan Granito (Huntington) was 3-2 with a pin and a technical falls at 157 pounds.
