Three Cortland Divers Compete at Day 1 of NCAA Regionals

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cortland firstyear Auttumn Ayakawa (Honolulu, HI/Coppell (TX)) and junior Alyssa Haberlack (Long Beach) finished 15th and 22nd, respectively, out of 28 divers in the women's 1-meter competition and senior Kevin Kohlhoff (West Islip) placed eighth of 10 in the men's 3-meter event during the opening day of action at the NCAA Division III Region 4 (Northeast-South) Diving Regionals, hosted by RIT.
 
Ayakawa finished with a score of 358.70 points and Haberlack finished with 346.30 points in the women's 1-meter. RIT's Gwen Petrie won with a score of 450.55 points, followed by Geneseo's Morgan Davey (446.85) and RIT's Mckenna Porter (428.00). The meet continues Saturday at noon with the 3-meter competition.
 
Kohlhoff posted a score of 420.65 points on the 3-meter board. Geneseo's Greg Meder won with a score of 567.65 points, followed by Conor Compton of Alfred State (559.80) and RIT's Luke Albanese (502.50). Saturday's action for the men moves to the 1-meter board, where both Kohlhoff and Calvin Eggleston (Antwerp/Indian River) will represent the Red Dragons. Eggleston did not compete in the 3-meter diving event.
 
After Saturday's action, seven women and four men will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships, starting with top finishers from each day, followed by second-place finishers, and so on.
