Cortland senior
Isaiah Brunache (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) has been named the 2026 Niagara Region Division III Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In addition, Brunache is one of 25 members of Cortland's men's and women's indoor track and field teams to earn a total of 32 All-Niagara Region honors from the USTFCCCA for the 2025-26 indoor season. To be named all-region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top eight in an individual event or a relay in the region on the Descending Order Lists available on Athletic.net (
MEN'S LIST |
WOMEN'S LIST). The all-region selections changed this year from top-5 individuals and top-3 relays to top-8 for both.
Brunache is the regional Field Athlete of the Year for the second time; he earned the honor outdoors in 2025. This season, he earned first-team All-America honors in both the weight throw (fifth place) and shot put (seventh place) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. He won the SUNYAC and AARTFC titles in both events, setting an AARTFC meet record in the shot put, and he was named the SUNYAC Men's Indoor Performer of the Meet. Brunache ranked first in the Niagara Region in both the weight throw (school-record 19.85 meters/65' 1.5") and the shot put (17.53 meters/57' 6.25").
