Cortland junior defender Jack Skarren (Long Beach) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 5.

Skarren earns Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after recording a game-high four caused turnovers and adding two ground balls in a 21-4 road victory at Potsdam, helping the Cortland defense limit the Bears to four goals. On the season, Skarren has 27 ground balls, which puts him third on the Red Dragons. He also has 10 caused turnovers on the season.

Cortland (6-5, 2-0 SUNYAC) will host Oswego on Grady Field this Wednesday at 4 p.m., followed by a trip to Oneonta this Saturday at 1 p.m.
