Danny Jackson (Lagrangeville/Arlington) have been named the SUNY Cortland Athletes of the Week for the week ending May 10.
Kaeli McAnally
Kaeli was named the SUNYAC Tournament MVP after batting .500 (4-for-8) with a triple, walk and steal in three Cortland victories as the Red Dragons repeated as conference champion. She also handled seven fielding chances without an error. In an opening-round 1-0 win over Buffalo State, she singled, stole second second and scored the game's lone run in the second inning. She was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 4-3 win over top-seeded New Paltz, and in the championship round she tripled and scored Cortland's first run in a 6-1 win over Buffalo State.
Danny Jackson
Danny was chosen as SUNYAC Tournament MVP after hitting .600 (12-for-20) with a homer, two doubles and five RBI is six conference playoff games, spanning two weekends. He was 6-for-10 in both the semifinal series versus Oneonta and the championship series against Oswego, and he handled 27 fielding chances (eight putouts, 19 assists) without an error. Jackson's bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave Cortland a 4-3 win over Oswego in the deciding winner-take-all championship game.
