Cortland senior Isaiah Brunache (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) has been named the 2026 Niagara Region Division III Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
 
Brunache is the regional Field Athlete of the Year for the third time; he was the indoor winner in 2026 and the outdoor honoree in 2025.
 
Brunache earned first team All-America honors with an eighth place finish in the discus at the NCAA Division III Championships, and he also finished 18th nationally in the shot put. He earned USTFCCCA All-Niagara Region honors in three events (discus, hammer throw, shot put), and he was the AARTFC Championships Most Outstanding Athlete of the Meet after winning the discus, placing second in the shot put and finishing sixth in the hammer throw. Brunache also was the SUNYAC champion in both the shot put and discus.
