Brandon McClain, who produced an outstanding career with Cortland from 2011-15, begins his second season as an assistant coach on the Red Dragon baseball staff in 2017.
McClain finished his career ranked in the top 10 in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and appearances. He posted a 21-5 record with three saves, a 2.48 ERA, 188 strikeouts and 217.1 innings pitched in 50 games, including 33 starts.
As a senior, McClain earned honorable mention ABCA All-Region and All-SUNYAC honors and was named to the NCAA Div. III Regional All-Tournament Team. He was a first team ABCA All-American, an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient, was named to the NCAA Div. III Regional All-Tournament Team and the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team and earned first team ABCA and second team D3baseball.com All-Region, second team All-ECAC and first team All-SUNYAC honors as a junior.
