Casey Scott is in his sixth season overall on the Cortland baseball coaching staff in 2019. He served as an assistant for four years from 2010-13 and re-joined the staff in 2018. Scott also serves as Cortland Athletics' Director of Athletic Tutoring.
Prior to his return to Cortland, Scott was an assistant baseball coach at Ave Maria University in Ave Maria, Fla., during the 2014 season before taking over as the head coach from 2015-17. Â
In the summer of 2012, Scott was named the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL) Coach of the Year after leading the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs to the league title. Prior to Cortland, Scott served as an assistant coach for The College at Brockport for two seasons and also was an assistant coach for the Brockport Riverbats, who won the NYCBL crown in 2008.
A 2007 graduate of Brockport, Scott posted a 9-0 record in two seasons pitching for the Golden Eagles. Scott, who received his master’s degree from Cortland in 2011, also attended Dutchess Community College and St. Thomas Aquinas, where he was a member of the baseball teams.
