Former Red Dragon standout Mike Zaccardo enters his fifth overall year on the Cortland coaching staff in 2015, having previously served as an assistant coach from 2010-11 and 2013-14. After wrapping up a three-year career with the Red Dragons, Zaccardo signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 2008.
While at Cortland, Zaccardo batted .364 with 30 doubles, two triples, 20 homers and 113 RBI in 121 games. He’s tied for fifth in career home runs and is ranked 12th in career RBI. As a junior, Zaccardo earned third team All-America honors and was named ECAC Upstate New York, New York Regional and SUNYAC Player of the Year and also was chosen to the ABCA/Rawlings National and New York Gold Glove teams.
Zaccardo currently serves as interim assistant director of athletics for external operations at the College.
