Prior to Cortland: Melanie attended St. Joseph's College...Member of the cross country team...Placed sixth at conference championships...Team won conference and ECAC titles.

High School: A 2021 graduate of Connetquot...Member of the National Honor Society and the Foreign Language Honor Society...Three-year member of the cross country team...Earned all-league and all-county honors...Four-member of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams...Earned all-league honors...Team won four straight league championships.
