Alesha Widdall enters her second season with the Cortland field hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2017.

Widdall most recently was an alternate on Team USA's field hockey team, which tied for fifth at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Her other national experience includes two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal in various world championship competitions around the globe.

Widdall also was a member of the Junior World Cup Team and won a gold medal at the Junior Pan American Games.

A native of Whitney Point, N.Y., Widdall was a two-time All-American at the University of Massachusetts and named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.
