Cristina Scichilone enters her first season as an assistant coach on the Cortland field hockey staff in 2012 after a four-year career as a goalkeeper in both field hockey and lacrosse at Roanoke College.

Scichilone, who earned a bachelor's degree in English at Roanoke,  started 60 games in goal for the Maroon field hockey squad, finishing her career second all-time with 552 saves. As a senior, she earned third team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honors after starting all 18 games. She ranked third in the conference with 152 saves and posted a .727 save percentage.

As a junior, Scichilone finished second in the conference with 152 saves as she started 13 contests. She earned first team All-ODAC honors as a sophomore after starting 15 games.

A native of South Yarmouth, Mass., Scichilone graduated from Nauset Regional High School where she was a Cape Islands All-Star as a junior and senior. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in adolescent education/math at Cortland.
