Andrew Rude will be an offensive assistant on the Cortland coaching staff in 2018 and will serve as the team’s quarterbacks coach. Rude is completing his undergraduate work at Cortland in health education. He was an offensive lineman for the Red Dragons as a freshman in 2015. He assisted the coaching staff with tight ends in 2016 and quarterbacks in 2017, and worked with the offensive line in the spring of 2018.
A native of Weedsport, N.Y., Rude is a 2015 Weedsport High graduate. He competed in football, basketball, swimming and baseball for the Warriors. A three-year starting offensive and defensive lineman, he was a two-time Section 3 Class D West all-league selection. Rude served a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Weedsport in 2016.
