Colin Clancy joins the Cortland football coaching staff in 2012 and will work with the team’s wide receivers. He also will coach the Red Dragons’ kickoff and punt returners.
Clancy graduated from Temple University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business and a concentration in entrepreneurship. He played quarterback for the Owls from 2005-09 and was a two-year letterwinner. As a senior, Clancy earned the team’s Academic Achievement Award. During the 2011-12 school year, Clancy served as a tight ends coach and video assistant at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He also has worked on Wall Street as an associate for Alliance Bernstein, a research-driven asset management firm.
Clancy is a native of Stonington, Conn., and graduated from Stonington High School in 2004. He was an all-state selection and established school career records with 39 touchdown passes and 3,700 passing yards. Clancy also played one season at St. Thomas More Prep in Oakdale, Conn., where he set a school record with 19 touchdown throws.
