Dan Lounsbury

Dan Lounsbury begins his fifth season as quarterbacks coach and his fourth as offensive coordinator for the Red Dragons in 2008. Lounsbury served as quarterbacks coach and
offensive coordinator at Division I Tulsa University before his arrival at Cortland.

Lounsbury’s extensive coaching background also included jobs on the Division I level at Texas Christian, Kentucky, Houston, Purdue and Texas. He has professional experience with the New York/New Jersey Knights of the World League of American Football, the
Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League and the Shreveport Knights.

Lounsbury began his career at Sam Houston St. as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator. His teams set 15 offensive school records during his tenure. He eventually moved to Howard Payne and Texas A & M at Commerce before securing the head coaching position at Southeastern Oklahoma St. He also earned head coaching experience at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. His teams have set numerous conference and national offensive records through the years and have played in three
bowl games.

Lounsbury received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from the University of Arkansas. He currently resides in Sackets Harbor with his wife, Lea.
