Jake Ceresna joins Cortland’s coaching staff in 2016 assisting with the offensive line. Ceresna starred on the defensive line for the Red Dragons for three seasons from 2013-15 and signed as a free agent with the New York Jets during the 2016 preseason.
A native of New Fairfield, Conn., Ceresna played in 33 games as a Red Dragon after transferring from Division II Southern Connecticut State. In 2015 he recorded 63 tackles, 38 solo, in 12 starts. He led the Red Dragons with 9.5 sacks and 18.5 total tackles for loss. In his three years at Cortland, Ceresna totaled 142 tackles with 39.5 tackles for loss (14.5 sacks), 10 pass breakups and 42 quarterback hurries.
Ceresna was named D3football.com second team All-East and second team All-ECAC North as well as first team All-Empire 8 as a senior. As a junior he garnered All-ECAC South and All-NJAC awards. In addition, he was chosen to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie team during his freshman season at Southern Connecticut.
