Jake Orlando joined the Cortland coaching staff in the spring of 2020 and will coach the team's running backs.
Orlando served as running backs coach at Morrisville State in 2019 under current Cortland head coach Curt Fitzpatrick. Prior to Morrisville he worked at Syracuse University, where he completed a year-long internship on the sidelines with the Division I Orange during a season that culminated with a win in the Camping World Bowl.
While at Syracuse, he participated in daily defensive tackle meetings, working alongside the defensive line coaches and quality control coordinator, while also assisting with the special teams unit.
Orlando is a SUNY Cortland graduate with a bachelor's degree in sport management. He served as an assistant to the offensive coordinator from January 2017-May 2018, participating in daily quarterback meetings and coordinating individual skill position drills, and also was a student assistant working directly with the running backs and specialist coach.
An alumnus of Auburn High School, Orlando competed as a three-sport student-athlete in football, hockey and lacrosse.
