After a four-year playing career with the Red Dragons, Nate Burgo joins the Cortland coaching staff in 2016 and will work with the team’s wide receivers. Burgo was a team captain in 2015 and caught seven passes during the season, including a touchdown reception in a win over Utica. He finished his career with 29 catches for 332 yards in 34 games. He also played one season on the men’s basketball team.
Burgo graduated from Cortland in December 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. A native of Binghamton, N.Y., he is a 2011 alumnus of Maine-Endwell High School, where he lettered in both football and basketball for three seasons. He earned all-metro honors in both sports and all-state recognition in basketball.
