Nolan Foley begins his second season as special teams and safeties coach in 2024. The Cortland alumnus served as an assistant coach for two seasons at St. Ambrose University in Iowa, working with the running backs and tight ends for a season before moving in 2022 to coach defensive backs and serve as special teams coordinator.
During their run to the 2023 national title, the Red Dragons ranked fifth nationally in Division III with four blocked punts. Cortland also returned two punts for touchdowns, one in the national semifinals.
Foley was an offensive lineman for Cortland for three seasons from 2017-19. Following an injury, he spent his senior season as an assistant offensive line coach. He served three years on the team's unity council and, as a junior, was the team's SAAC representative.
Foley graduated from Cortland in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in political science and is currently completing work toward at master's degree in organizational leadership from St. Ambrose. He is a native of Wantagh, N.Y., and a 2017 graduate of Wantagh High School.
