Ola Adams

Ola Adams returns for his third season as Cortland’s defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2013. He also was an assistant coach on the Red Dragon staff in the 2009 season and coached defensive backs at Division II Glenville State (W.V.) in 2010.

In the summer of 2013, Adams was selected to participate in the Bill Walsh NFL Minority Coaching Fellowship and spent time coaching with the Chicago Bears at their summer training camp. In addition, Adams attended the NFL-NCAA Coaches Academy in February 2013.

Adams graduated from Concord University (W.V.) in 2008 and served as a student coach at the school in the fall of 2008. Adams was a four-year starting free safety for the Division II Mountain Lions from 2004-07. He earned All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) honors three times and was named All-Northeast Region twice. During his career, he registered 283 tackles, including two sacks and 14 total for lost yardage, along with seven interceptions, 29 pass breakups, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

A native of Reston, Virginia, Adams lettered in football, basketball and track at South Lakes High School.
