Sam Chase will serve as a defensive assistant for the Red Dragons in 2015. Chase graduated from Cortland this past May after playing offensive line for two seasons. He appeared in every game for the Red Dragons during both the 2013 and 2014 seasons, and was the 2014 recipient of the Dragon Heart Award.
The Mechanicville, N.Y., native also attended Hudson Valley Community College and Buffalo State prior to his arrival at Cortland. At Mechanicville High School, Chase earned all-section football honors, was the team’s Defensive MVP as a senior, and was a sectional wrestling champion who placed sixth in New York State.
