Wayne Wheeler, a wide receiver for the Red Dragons from 2006-09, joins the Cortland coaching staff in 2011 and will assist with the defensive backs coaching. In his final season, he caught 34 passes for 362 yards and three touchdowns, including two scores in the Cortaca Jug game at Ithaca. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2009 and is currently completing his master’s degree work in international sport management.
A native of Memphis, N.Y., Wheeler graduated from Jordan-Elbridge High School in 2004. He earned all-league honors and was a team captain in football, basketball and baseball.
