Kharmen Wingard, who also serves as a lecturer and an assistant for athletic administration, enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Red Dragons’ men’s basketball team. Prior to Cortland, Wingard was an assistant coach at Daemen College and a graduate assistant coach at Buffalo St.
Wingard played collegiately at Gannon University and Daemen College. While at Daemen, he earned first team All-American Mideast Conference (AMC) honors as a sophomore and second team All-AMC honors as a junior and senior. He graduated seventh in career scoring and second in career three-point field goals and helped lead the Wildcats to the NAIA Division II national tournament “elite eight” during his sophomore season.
Wingard, who earned a bachelor’s degree in social work at Daemen and a master’s degree in student personnel administration from Buffalo St., attended Bennett High School in Buffalo, N.Y. where he was a member of the basketball and cross country teams.
