    Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach
The 2023-24 season is Mike Ratchuk's first as an assistant coach on the Cortland men's ice hockey staff. Ratchuk also currently serves as a Lead Instructor at Speed Skills Hockey (SSH), a position he has held since 2022. At SSH, he trains players in spring clinics, Roadrunner tournaments, summer development programs and winter organizational training.

Prior to SSH, Ratchuk trained players at the Academy of Hockey out of the Harbor Center in Buffalo, N.Y. His primary role was skating and skill development for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, working with players from Squirts to Midgets.

Ratchuk played collegiately at Michigan St., winning a national title in 1997. Prior to Michigan St., he spent two years with the National Team Development Program.  In 2006, Ratchuk was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round. After his Michigan St. playing days, Ratchuk had a 10-year professional career with stops in the American Hockey League, ECHL and Elite European Hockey.
