Paul Quinlan begins his first season with the Cortland men’s hockey staff in 2024-25.

Prior to Cortland, Quinlan was the Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles high school hockey team head coach for the past two seasons after serving as an assistant for the eight years prior to that. During his first year at the helm he directed the Eagles to a 17-4 overall record, Academic Honor Roll Award, NYSPHSAA Section III Division 2 Sportsmanship Award, and was voted the NYSPHSAA Section III Division 2 Coach of the Year. During his time as both head and assistant coach with the Golden Eagles, Quinlan’s teams had an overall record of 104-68-8, making the playoffs in nine of his 10 years behind the bench with two trips to the Sectional finals (2019 and 2022). Quinlan was also a part of three Coaching Staff of the Year honors prior to being voted coach of the year in 2023.

Quinlan has been involved with Cortland County Youth Hockey for more than 15 years and continues to coach teams at multiple age levels each season. He guided the CCYHA U18 team to Sectional Championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024 as well as top-five finishes at the New York State 18 U Tier III State Tournament each of those seasons. Quinlan also coached the CCYHA 12U team to a top five finish at the NYS tournament in 2024.

Quinlan graduated cum laude from St. John Fisher College with a degree in management in 2004 and was a member of the Cardinals' varsity men's soccer team.
