C.J. Nye

C.J. Nye enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Cortland men's lacrosse team in 2017 after a four-year playing career with the Red Dragons. Nye also has served as head coach of the 2015 Empire State Cup Central Team, as an assistant football coach at Skaneateles (N.Y.) Central School and as the defensive coordinator for the Section Three Nike Upstate Rising Juniors.

Nye, who earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in adapted physical education at the College, helped lead Cortland to four SUNYAC titles and a national runner-up finish in 2012 as a defenseman. A team captain as a senior, he earned first team All-ECAC and All-SUNYAC honors and was selected to compete in the North/South Senior Game.

A native of Marcellus, N.Y., Nye competed in lacrosse and football at Marcellus Central. He currently teaches physical education at DeRuyter (N.Y.) Central School.
