After a four-year career with the Red Dragons, followed by five years on Cortland’s staff as an assistant coach, E.J. Reutemann enters his first season as associate head coach in 2017. “I am incredibly excited and honored to continue to build the program through the culture and high standards that have been created here at Cortland,” said Reutemann.

Reutemann played in 70 games in his four seasons at Cortland from 2008-11. As a Red Dragon, he led the team in assists as a junior and senior and was selected team captain in his final season.

Previously, he served as the head coach of the Ithaca High School girls’ varsity soccer program for four seasons from 2013-16. During his time at Ithaca, Reutemann guided the team to its first sectional title game in 14 years. The program also earned the NYS Scholar-Athlete Team award in each season under his tutelage.

A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., Reutemann, who earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Cortland in 2012 and a master’s degree in 2017, won a Class AA state title at Shenendehowa High School. A true student of the game, Reutemann holds an NSCAA Advanced National  Diploma as well as a USSF “E” license.
