After a successful four-year career as a starter with the Red Dragons, followed by five years on Cortland's Men's Soccer staff as an Assistant Coach, in 2019  E.J. Reutemann proudly enters his third season as Cortland's Associate Head Coach. As a Red Dragon from 2008-11 Reutemann led the team in assists as a junior and senior and was selected team captain in his final season. 
 
He once again enthusiastically looks forward to playing an integral role in the development of the student athletes on and off the field. "I am incredibly excited and honored to continue to build the program through the culture and high standards that have been created here at Cortland," said Reutemann.
 
In addition to his current role, Reutemann is presently the head coach of the Boys 2002/2001 and Girls 2003 teams of the Syracuse Development Academy - a Nike Premier Club. He also served as head coach for the Ithaca High School Girls' Varsity soccer program from 2013-16. Under his guidance and training, Reutemann led the team to its first sectional title game in more than 14 years. Under his tutelage and attention to detail, the program earned the NYS Scholar Athlete Team Award in each season.
 
A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., Reutemann contributed to Shenendehowa High School's Class AA state title win. He has earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in Sport Management from Cortland. A true student of the game, Reutemann holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma with a Pass of Distinction as well as a USSF "E" license.
